Zhiqiu (Joe) Zhang is pursuing a BA in Legal Communication at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen. Before formal legal training, he independently handled an insurance contract dispute on behalf of a close family member against a big company called Sino Life Insurance Co., Ltd. represented by a big law firm called Dentons LLP. He managed client interviews, evidence collection, pleadings, court appearances, and negotiations. The case concluded with Joe winning big: his client got full recovery of RMB 829,346.84. Joe aims to apply to a law school in a common law jurisdiction, and act as a bridge between China and the world.
