Algae Shield | Global Sustainability Challenge
This pitch video presents a sustainable technology solution to the severe microplastic pollution generated by the food delivery industry. Our team proposed an innovative alternative: replacing conventional plastic linings with a fully biodegradable sodium alginate coating that prevents microplastics from leaching into hot food and beverages. For this project, I spearheaded the problem analysis and market feasibility research. My work focused on evaluating the global scope of microplastic pollution and analyzing how foreign markets are regulating and solving this crisis. I then localized this research, ensuring our proposed solution strategically aligned with China's domestic legal frameworks, environmental policies, and cost structures. This project allowed me to bridge my legal scholarship with environmental innovation, demonstrating how emerging sustainability technologies must navigate complex regulatory landscapes to become viable realities.
